Working in Ipswich
Ipswich has some of the oldest housing stock in the south east sitting alongside some of the newest. A worker’s cottage in Booval and a two-year-old house in Ripley are not the same job, and the remediation plans that come back on them look nothing alike.
The older homes are the ones to watch. Original paint, VJ walls, unsealed timber and open roof cavities all give residue somewhere to sit, and a plan on a house like that will often call for more than surface washing. If a plan looks light for the construction we are standing in, we raise it with the hygienist before we start rather than working through it and hoping the clearance sample comes back under.
